Frequently asked questions

Is uveitis contagious?

The inflammation itself is not contagious. Some cases are caused by infections, which is why finding the cause matters.

Can uveitis be cured?

It depends on the cause. Some cases resolve with treatment, while others are chronic and are controlled long term with follow-up.

Why do I need blood tests?

To look for autoimmune diseases or infections related to the eye inflammation and choose the right treatment.

What complications can it cause?

If it is not controlled, uveitis can lead to cataract, glaucoma or retinal damage. That is why follow-up with a specialist is important.
